Customer Service Statement Regarding Cable Modem Upgrades & IP Restrictions
FPB's new Residential and Business Cable Modem Packages restrict the number of IPs to only 1 Dynamic IP by default. If you have multiple devices* attached to your cable modem, you will have to use a Router or Firewall** (wired or wireless) to supply them all with Internet access***
*Multiple Devices = examples: 1 PC using Ethernet & 1 PC using USB; 2 PCs on a network switch, or a PC & game console or web cam, etc.
**Router or Firewall = these will allow multiple devices to connect through 1 IP address -- network hubs or switches do not qualify.
***Internet Access = if you switch devices attached to the cable modem, you will need to power cycle (reboot) the modem afterward.
NOTE: Additional IPs can be purchased for $10 each per month. If you contact Tech Support, you may be required to bypass your router or firewall to fully troubleshoot your issue. FPB does not support home networking devices
