Customer Service Statement Regarding Cable Modem Upgrades & IP Restrictions
FPB's new Residential and Business Cable Modem Packages restrict the number of IPs to only 1 Dynamic IP by default. If you have multiple devices* attached to your cable modem, you will have to use a Router or Firewall** (wired or wireless) to supply them all with Internet access***.
*Multiple Devices = examples: 1 PC using Ethernet & 1 PC using USB; 2 PCs on a network switch, or a PC & game console or web cam, etc.
**Router or Firewall = these will allow multiple devices to connect through 1 IP address -- network hubs or switches do not qualify.
***Internet Access = if you switch devices attached to the cable modem, you will need to power cycle (reboot) the modem afterward.
NOTE: Additional IPs can be purchased for $10 each per month. If you contact Tech Support, you may be required to bypass your router or firewall to fully troubleshoot your issue. FPB does not support home networking devices.

While FPB's new multi-megabit packages are very fast, some older cable modems may have trouble achieving their full bandwidth potential. If you experience this, you may need to consider new equipment.
