Approve Award of Bid Invitation #1401 (Rebuild of the Low Service Pump #3) Contingent Upon Receipt of Required Bonds and Proof of Insurance Being Acceptable to Staff Attorney):
On March 5, 2007, Invitations to Bid were sent out to four (4) different Peerless Pump Company Representatives as listed on Peerless’s website.
Bids were received on April 5, 2007 from the following Peerless Representatives:
- S & K Equipment Company $59,621
- Corporate Equipment Company (No Bid)

The scope of this project involves rebuilding of an existing vertical turbine pump at a

Factory
Authorized
Service
Center
located in
Cleveland
,
Ohio
. Once rebuilt, the pump will be stored here and kept ready for installation in the low service building at the Water Treatment Plant.
In addition to providing the standard Peerless new pump one year warranty, Peerless has offered to delay the warranty start date for a period up to 8 years and initialize the one year standard warranty period upon factory startup. The Water Treatment Department budgeted $90,000 this year for the work.
Staff recommends that the Board award the bid to S&K Equipment Company in the amount of $59,621 contingent upon receipt of the required bonds and proof of insurance and approval by Staff and Board Attorneys.
