3. Informational Item – Departmental Reports:

For the Month of January, we had the following Electric, Water and Cable Outages.

Electric - There were 32 Electric Outages during the Month of January.

Water - There were 2 Water Outages during the Month of January.

Cable/Telecommunications - There were 11 Cable/Telecommunications Outages during the Month of January.

Water Treatment Plant - During the month of January, the Water Treatment Plant withdrew approximately 257 million gallons of raw water with an average daily withdrawal rate of 8.30 million gallons. During this same time frame last year, this system averaged 7.94 million gallons. The maximum daily demand occurred on January 3rd with 9.87 mgd being produced on this date. Compliance with all Federal and State Water Quality Standards were maintained.

Safety - There were 4 OSHA Recordable Accidents during the month of January.

There were 3 vehicle accidents during the month of January.

  • A cable employee strained his back while carrying a ladder resulting in restricted duty.

  • A water employee strained his shoulder while using a spud bar to break out a concrete water vault resulting in restricted duty.

  • A water employee cut his index finger on a steel fender resulting In two stitches, but no lost time or restricted duty.

There was 1 vehicle accidents during the month of January.

  • In attempting to avoid a rear-end collision, a private vehicle swerved Into the lane of on-coming traffic, striking an FPB vehicle. This Resulted in major damage to the FPB vehicle, but no serious injuries.

Customer Service - During the Month of January, approximately 14,094 incoming calls were received on our main number 352-4372. This was 538 fewer calls received than last month which had 20 days of call reporting like this month. The daily average of calls was 705, with 4 billing representatives and 8 CSRs available for calls. The average calls per representative, per day would be 59. These statistics do not include walk-in customers, direct dialed calls to the representatives’ two phone lines or any internal calls or after hours and weekend calls. These call numbers do include any calls received at our main number that were transferred to the Cable, Electric and Water Departments.
