Approve Award of Bid Invitation #1419 (Annual Water Treatment Chemicals):

Staff recommends that the Board approve the award of Bid Invitation #1419 (Water Treatment Chemicals) to the low bidders as follows:

Item #1 – Liquid Ferric Chloride to Kemira in the amount of .0875 lb.
Item #2 – Chlorine to JCI Jones Chemical in the amount of .2035 lb.
Item #3 – Caustic Soda to JCI Jone Chemical in the amount of .107 lb.
Item #4 – Aluminum Hydroxychlorosulfate to Delta Chemical in the amount of .169 lb.
Item #5 – Hydro-Fluosilicic Acid to Chemical Resources in the amount of .1895 lb.
Item #6 – Potassium Permanganate to Brentag in the amount of $2.17 lb.
Item #7 – Powder Activated Carbon to Sal Chemical in the amount of .51 lb.

Chris Riddle advised Purchasing that the powder activated carbon was depleting quickly and could not wait until the Board Meeting.  After discussing the situation with Joe Smith and Hance Price, the powder activated carbon was purchased to resolve the present shortage.
