3. Informational Item - Departmental Reports:

For the Month of May, we had the following Electric, Water and Cable Outages.

Electric - There were 37 Electric Outages during the Month of May.

Water - There was 1 Water Outage during the Month of May.

Cable/Telecommunications - There were 9 Cable/Telecommunications Outages during the Month of May.

Water Treatment Plant - During the month of May, the Water Treatment Plant withdrew approximately 359 million gallons of raw water with an average daily withdrawal rate of 11.5 million gallons. During this same time frame last year, this system averaged 8.4 million gallons. The maximum daily demand occurred on May 31st with 13.7 mgd being produced on this date. Compliance with all Federal and State Water Quality Standards were maintained. 

Safety - There were 2 OSHA recordable accidents during the month of May.

  • A cable  employee was squatting to reach for a wire and strained his lower back.  This resulted in restricted duty.
  • A water employee broke his ankle when he stepped off a piece of equipment onto a dirt clod.  This resulted in lost time.

There was 1 OSHA recordable vehicle accident during the Month of May.

  • A parked, unattended Cable 10 van was struck by a private vehicle.

Customer Service - During the Month of May, approximately 12,729 incoming calls were received on our main number 352-4372. This was 270 fewer calls received than last month which had 21 days of call reporting and this month had 22 days of call reporting. The daily average of calls were 579, with 4 billing representatives and 8 CSRs available for calls. The average calls per representative, per day would be 48. These statistics do not include walk-in customers, direct dialed calls to the representatives’ two phone lines or any internal calls or after hours and weekend calls. These call numbers do include any calls received at our main number that were transferred to the Cable, Electric, and Water  Departments.
