Discuss Request from County Judge’s Office Regarding Water Line Issue on Bain Moore Hill (Devils Hollow Road):

Mr. Robert Roach, County Judge Executive, and Mr. Bryan Kirby, County’s Project Administrator will be present to discuss the Plant Board providing water to Bain Moore Hill (Devils Hollow Road) with the use of grant money provided through the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority in the amount of $225,000.

2. Informational Item – Status of House Bill 337 – Telephone Deregulation

Senate Bill 337, a proposal for telephone deregulation in Kentucky, passed the Kentucky House with an 83-14 vote and is expected to be approved by the Senate. This bill would deregulate much of the telephone operations for BellSouth and other telephone companies in Kentucky. It would also remove the regulatory protection provided by the Kentucky Public Service Commission for most consumer telephone service issues.

Staff will briefly update the Board on the following:

  1. Key aspects of the proposed legislation
  2. The anticipated market changes and potential impact on FPB’s telephone operations
  3. FPB’s planned response to the changing regulatory environment
