| Informational Item Status of House Bill 337 Telephone Deregulation
Senate Bill 337, a proposal for telephone deregulation in Kentucky, passed the Kentucky House with an 83-14 vote and is expected to be approved by the Senate. This bill would deregulate much of the telephone operations for BellSouth and other telephone companies in Kentucky. It would also remove the regulatory protection provided by the Kentucky Public Service Commission for most consumer telephone service issues.
