Informational Item - Departmental Reports:
For the Month of April, we had the following Electric, Water and Cable Outages.
Electric - There were 41 Electric Outages during the Month of April.
Water - There were 0 Water Outage and 2 scheduled outagesduring the Month of April.
Cable/Telecommunications - There were 4 Cable/Telecommunications Outages during the Month of April.
Water Treatment Plant - During the month of April, the Water Treatment Plant withdrew approximately 232 million gallons of raw water with an average daily withdrawal rate of 7.70 million gallons. During this same time frame last year, this system averaged 7.76 million gallons. The maximum daily demand occurred on January 29th with 9.50 mgd being produced on this date. Compliance with all Federal and State Water Quality Standards were maintained.
Safety - There were 2 OSHA recordable accidents and 1 OSHA recordable vehicle accident during the month of April.
- A electric employee stepped in a small drainage hole while carrying a transformer into a back yard. This resulted in restricted duty.
- A water employee lost his balance while walking in the mud. He received a first degree burn from a hot muffler when he reached his hand out to catch himself. This resulted in restricted duty.
- An electric truck was involved in an accident when another car ran a stoplight at Ann and
Clinton
Streets. No one was seriously injured. Both vehicles sustained substantial damage.
Customer Service - During the Month of April, approximately 12,999 incoming calls were received on our main number 352-4372. This was 505 fewer calls received than last month which had 22 days of call reporting and this month had 21 days of call reporting. The daily average of calls were 619, with 4 billing representatives and 8 CSRs available for calls. The average calls per representative, per day would be 51. These statistics do not include walk-in customers, direct dialed calls to the representatives’ two phone lines or any internal calls or after hours and weekend calls. These call numbers do include any calls received at our main number that were transferred to the Cable, Electric, and Water Departments.
