2. What kind of savings can I expect?
Most long distance companies charge between 7¢ to 25¢ per minute for long distance calls and even more if the call is inside Kentucky. 4. Do I have to call at a certain time of the day or night to get the 6¢ per minute rate?
No. Call anywhere in the continental USA and Hawaii, Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico* including anywhere in Kentucky, for 6¢ per minute 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Check that rate against what your current provider is charging. Most long distance providers charge more for calls within Kentucky.
5. Are there fees to switch to FPB long distance?

6. What is a PIC freeze and what do I need to do?
You may have directed your local telephone company not to allow your long distance provider to be changed without your authorization. This is called a PIC freeze. You should think of a PIC freeze as insurance against slamming. Slamming means someone has changed your long distance provider without your knowledge or authorization.
If you have a PIC freeze you need to contact your local telephone company at the time you complete the LOA and direct them to remove the PIC freeze (for BellSouth call 557-6500). After your long distance service is switched to FPB Long Distance you will need to reinstate your PIC freeze by calling your local telephone company.
7. Does the FPB Long Distance offer calling cards?
Yes. You can get calling cards for everyone in the family to use when they are out of town or if you have an emergency, and at 12¢ per minute, that’s a great rate compared with other providers.
8. Can I make international calls with FPB Long Distance?
Yes. Plus you’ll be saving from the very first call you make. FPB international rates can be as much as 50% below that of other long distance providers. 12. How does my long distance call get out to the rest of the world?
FPB works with Qwest in offering our long distance service. FPB makes all service arrangements, establishes the rates and will bill you for the calls on FPB’s regular bill. From time to time, Qwest may be identified on your local telephone bill as your long distance provider or when using operator or directory assistance. Don’t be concerned. You are FPB’s customer and you are on FPB’s long distance service.
